A woman on one knee proposing on the lawn in front of Biltmore House, her partner covering her face in surprise

Biltmore Estate · Asheville, NC

Biltmore Estate Wedding Photographer

A house built to impress, and a day that should still feel like yours. Honest, artful photographs from an Asheville-based team.

Photographing at Biltmore

Grand setting, honest pictures

Biltmore is one of the most photographed places in North Carolina, which is exactly why it is worth being careful with. It is easy to come home with the same pictures everyone else has. We would rather show you what the day felt like: the nerves before you walk out, your people reacting, the two of you finding a quiet minute in a very large house.

Our style is fine art meets documentary. We let real moments unfold, compose them carefully, and keep the edit true to life so your photos do not date. On a day with this much architecture, we use the estate as a frame for you, not the other way round.

The photo at the top of this page is one we made on the estate: a proposal on the lawn in front of Biltmore House, with the Blue Ridge behind it.

The settings

Biltmore’s eight wedding settings

Biltmore lists eight settings for weddings on its venues page. Guest ranges below are Biltmore’s own published figures (checked October 2026). Confirm current details with the estate’s catering sales team.

  1. Antler Hill Barn

20 to 50 guests, indoor and outdoor. The smallest setting, and a natural fit for intimate weddings.

  2. Cedric’s Garden

27 to 60 guests, indoor and outdoor.

  3. The Inn on Biltmore Estate

45 to 80 guests, indoor and outdoor. Biltmore describes a ceremony at The Vista followed by dinner and dancing in the Vanderbilt Ballroom.

  4. Walled Garden

    45 to 100 guests, outdoor.

  5. Lioncrest

100 to 150 guests, indoor and outdoor.

  6. Deerpark

110 to 225 guests, indoor and outdoor.

  7. Diana

125 to 225 guests, outdoor. A hilltop beside a marble statue of Diana, with views back to Biltmore House.

  8. Biltmore House & Gardens

185 to 600 guests, outdoor. The largest and most formal option.

Planning notes

What we would plan for at Biltmore

Distances. The estate is large, and getting between the house, the gardens and Antler Hill takes real time. We map the day around where you are getting ready, where the ceremony is and where you want portraits, so nobody spends the golden hour in a car.

Light. Big lawns and stone facades can be harsh at midday and gorgeous an hour before sunset. If portraits matter to you, we will help you place them in the best light your schedule allows.

Guests. Biltmore’s FAQ says that on your wedding day, guests simply give your name at the Admissions Gate, with no tickets required. It is still worth sending clear arrival directions, because the drive in from the gate is part of the experience and takes longer than people expect.

Vendors. Biltmore keeps a recommended vendor list and its FAQ says you are welcome to use vendors of your choosing. Check your contract and the estate’s current policies for photographers before you book anyone, us included.

FAQ

Questions couples ask us

Can we bring our own photographer to a Biltmore wedding?

Biltmore’s wedding FAQ says it keeps a recommended vendor list and that couples are welcome to use vendors of their choosing. Confirm the current policy for photographers with your Biltmore catering sales manager when you book.

How many wedding venues does Biltmore Estate have?

Biltmore lists eight settings: Antler Hill Barn, Cedric’s Garden, The Inn on Biltmore Estate, the Walled Garden, Lioncrest, Deerpark, Diana, and Biltmore House & Gardens, ranging from 20 guests to 600.

Have you photographed a wedding at Biltmore?

We have photographed a proposal on the estate, in front of Biltmore House, but not yet a full wedding there. We have photographed many weddings across Asheville and Western North Carolina, including the Crest Center, Emerald Ridge Farm and The Lodge at Flat Rock. Our galleries show complete days.

Do you photograph proposals at Biltmore?

Yes. A proposal at Biltmore is one of our favorite things to plan. We scout the spot, hide in plain sight, and photograph the moment and a short portrait session right after. Proposal pricing is quoted on a short call. More on our engagement and proposal page.

How much does a Biltmore wedding photographer cost?

Our wedding collections start at $2,400 and most couples spend between $2,800 and $3,600. The final quote depends on hours of coverage and whether you want a second photographer. At an estate this size, many couples choose longer coverage. See pricing for what every collection includes.
