About Emerald Ridge Farm

Emerald Ridge Farm sits in Weaverville, which the venue describes as minutes from downtown Asheville. It describes itself as a 33-acre historic family farm with Blue Ridge views, sunset ceremonies and hands-on, family-led hospitality (emeraldridgenc.com). The address is 161 Greenridge Road, Weaverville, NC 28787.

From the venue's site and FAQ:

  • Capacity. Up to 175 guests, with 75 parking spots on the property.
  • Spaces. The homepage lists a modern barn, cocktail deck, oak tree ceremony site, farmhouse and pavilion.
  • Staying over. A four-bedroom, five-bath farmhouse sleeps 8 or more, and up to 40 tent campers are allowed.
  • Access. The FAQ says there are no steps to the reception area, the ceremony spot, the cocktail deck or the pavilion.
  • Music curfew. Amplified music is off by 10:00 pm on the Enchanted Day and Custom packages and by 10:30 pm on Saturday for the No Rush Weekend package.
  • Vendors. Couples may use any photographer. Vendors who spend time on the property, photographers included, must carry $1 million in event liability insurance and show proof.

Our work here

Our wedding at Emerald Ridge Farm & Event Center

A few details from the day:

  • There was no traditional send-off. After dinner, once the sun had gone down, everyone was handed bubbles for a group photo, with a bubble machine running.
  • The wedding party had an after-party by the fireplace at the venue.
  • The florals were done by the man of honor.

We edited the set in a faded, film-like way, with lifted blacks and heavy grain, to suit a November day.

Planning tips for Emerald Ridge Farm

  1. Insurance paperwork

    The venue requires $1 million event liability insurance from vendors who work on-site, so ask any photographer about it early.

  2. The bar

    The venue allows BYOB for the booking party and requires bartenders for the whole wedding day. Bartending is offered as an add-on (venue FAQ).
