Asheville-based, Nashville-ready

We should be clear up front: White Lion is based in Asheville, North Carolina, about four and a half hours east of Nashville on I-40. We are not a Nashville studio, and we will not pretend to be.

What we are is a small team that travels for couples whose style matches ours. If you want photographs that feel cinematic and true, with real moments rather than a checklist of poses, the drive is a small thing. We plan our travel so we arrive rested, and when the schedule allows we like to walk your venue in the same light you will have.

Travel is quoted openly with your collection, so there are no surprises later.

Ashley & Alex at the Conrad Nashville

In September 2025 we photographed Ashley and Alex's wedding at the Conrad Nashville. It was a day built for a documentary eye: a glamorous hotel full of brass, glass and dark wood, a big group of friends, and a couple who were not shy about having fun.

We worked with what the hotel gave us. Window light in the suite while Ashley got ready. The spiral staircase for the first look. Hard, late-day sun cutting through the lobby for dramatic portraits, a vintage convertible parked inside, and a sparkler heart that lit up the whole frame after dark.

Then the reception, with the chair lift, the dance floor and late-night snacks at the bar. Exactly the kind of night we love to photograph.

What working with us looks like

Every booking starts with a relaxed call to talk through your day and put together a quote that fits it. Once your date is locked in, you get a planning guide, timeline help and, as the day gets close, a check-in to go over logistics and the photos that matter most to you.

On the day, we move quietly. We guide only when it helps, step back when it does not, and adapt to your energy, whether that is a calm downtown ceremony or a 300-guest party. Afterward you get a gallery of hand-edited images in true, lasting color, with full printing rights and secure multi-location backup.

Nashville has no shortage of great photographers. If you are looking at us, it is probably because you have seen our work and it feels like you. That is the best reason to hire anyone.

What we plan for at a Nashville wedding

Shared spaces
Hotel lobbies, rooftops and bars are beautiful and busy. We pick portrait spots and times when they are quietest, and have a second option ready when they are not.
Window light for getting ready
Suites with big windows make gorgeous, soft light. If you can, choose a getting-ready room with good windows and keep it tidy in one corner. It shows in every frame.
Downtown timing
Moving between a ceremony site, a portrait location and a reception downtown takes longer on a Saturday than the map suggests. We help you build in a buffer so nobody spends golden hour in traffic.
After dark
Nashville nights are made for photographs: city light, sparklers, a packed dance floor. If the party matters to you, plan coverage that lasts long enough to catch it.
